All Are Welcome at Our Church

We come from different religious backgrounds, different walks of life, and this enhances our community. Our guiding principle is a belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. Accordingly, everyone is welcome in our church, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or faith. We open our doors to you and look forward to the opportunity to get to know you.

About Copperfield Campus

Copperfiled Campus, formerly known as Northwest Community Unitarian Universalist Church, has been serving the Northwest Houston, Cypress and Katy communities since early 1995 and has been a haven for free thinkers ever since. Our congregation is a member of the Houston Unitarian Universalist network, the Southwest Unitarian Universalist Conference and is proud to be a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.

Copperfield Campus is designated a Welcoming Congregation by the UUA, which underscores its commitment to providing a sanctuary where all are welcomed, embraced and shown dignity and respect.

Our Mission

To provide a community where open-minded people are welcomed and encouraged to explore their spiritual growth in an atmosphere of love and acceptance; we believe in inspiring the next generation to lead principle-centered lives; and we seek to share our celebration of life in service to the larger community.

Our Covenant

  • COMMUNITY
    We covenant to be a thriving community, ever developing and sharing our gifts of time, money, energy and talents.

  • LOVE
    We covenant to act and speak with love and honesty in all interactions, speaking directly to each other and treating all as we wish to be treated.

  • SANCTUARY
    We covenant to be a sanctuary, where everyone is valued and feels emotionally, physically and spiritually safe. We will foster an environment in which all are encouraged to grow spiritually as Unitarian Universalists.

  • ACCEPTING
    We covenant to be accepting of each individual. We recognize and honor our unique experiences and perspectives, and respect the growth opportunity we have in learning about another’s journey.

  • SERVICE
    We covenant to take our shared values into the wider community through service. We will seek opportunities to help those in need and to take care of this planet.

We UUs often say that deeds are more important than creeds. The Faith in Action Team is a committee of our church that seeks to facilitate social action in accord with our Faith, our hopes, and the seven ethical Principles that we hold in common:

1. The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
2. Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
3. Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
4. A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
5. The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
6. The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
7. Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
