A Welcoming Congregation
What to expect on Sunday

When you arrive at Northwest Community you’ll be greeted by one of our members and we’ll have someone show you around if you like. We hear quite often there is a warm energy that can be felt here and many of our members chose Northwest as their church home because of the strong sense of community.

A typical Sunday follows the schedule below.

Worship Service - 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM
Our Sunday worship service is very similar to what you may have encountered at church when growing up. There is singing, a children’s story, readings, prayer/meditation and a sermon. Our worship services often incorporate teachings from all the world religions, concepts from great philosophers and thinkers from the past and present as well as the innovations and logic of science and reason. All ages are invited to attend our worship service. Nursery care is available for infants through age 4.

Corner Forum - 10:35 AM
The Corner Forum is a lively discussion group that meets after service at 11:15 in the corner of the church. Topics range from discussing the morning’s sermon, recent events, or other topics suggested by members of the group. Got an idea for the forum? Come share it!

Children’s Religious Education - 10:35 AM
Religious Education is valued strongly by the members of our church. Parents feel it is important for children of all age levels to receive guidance and instruction in order to develop a strong sense of self and feel comfortable about their religion.

Goals of Our Children’s Religious Education Program:

  • Teach children of all ages what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist and how to live guided by the principles of Unitarian Universalism.
  • Teach children about our Judeo-Christian heritage and what other religions believe
  • Provide instruction on topics of relevance in the lives of our youth
